The British Honey Company plans NEX flotation to expand in gin industry

The British Honey Company has announced plans to float on the NEX market later this month, raising an initial GBP1.5mln.

The funds will be used to expand in the gin industry, which has been growing exponentially in the UK over the last four years, by acquiring smaller businesses.

BHC said most gin producers in the UK have enough infrastructure to grow and can benefit from its distillery and warehouse.

The plan is to eventually expand in China and the US, where premium gin brands are expected to become more popular.

The producer of spirits, honey and jams is behind the brand Keepr’s, which is sold in specialist outlets and supermarkets such as Waitrose and Amazon.
