Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) said about US$380mln of rough diamonds were sold in De Beers Group’s fourth sales cycle of 2021, down about 16% from the preceding sale as a second wave of COVID-19 in India reduced rough diamond demand.

Tharisa PLC (LON:THS), an integrated platinum and chrome producer, expects its earnings per share for the six months to end-March to be around six times higher than the corresponding interim period. Basic earnings per share and headline earnings per share (HEPS) are expected to be between 21 US cents and 22 US cents per share,

BlueRock Diamonds PLC (LON:BRD) said the expansion project at Kareevlei remains on track to be commissioned in July, with around 80% of the work completed. The expansion project at the mine, in the Kimberley region of South Africa, is expected to more than double the diamond producer’s annual revenue to around US$16mln while the company’s total unit cost is set to reduce significantly to around US$220 per carat

Petropavlovsk PLC (LON:POG) saw its full-year underlying profits jump around a third helped by higher gold production and prices, although costs also increased. Underlying EBITDA rose 32% to US$350.7mln (£249mln) as revenue soared 33% to US$988.5mln

Pan African Resources PLC (LON:PAF) has increased its production guidance to 195,000 ounces of gold for the twelve months ending June 30. It marks an upgrade from prior guidance of 190,000 and it comes amidst what the company described as a “robust operational performance, driven by a significant improvement in production from the Evander mine’s 8 Shaft pillar.

W Resources PLC (LON:WRES) said it expects to raise about £2.5mln via a placing and will use most of the proceeds to create a permanent solution to the high water levels at its La Parrilla mine in Spain. The company is taking steps to lower the water level and regain access to the higher-grade ore at La Parrilla and significantly increase tungsten and tin production there.

Bacanora Lithium PLC (LON:BCN) has updated investors on site activities at its Sonora lithium project in Mexico. In an operational update, the AIM-listed firm said it has rescued, removed and stored surface vegetation and topsoil in the area required for the construction of the lithium processing plant. This surface vegetation and topsoil is being stockpiled on the lease to be incorporated into the future project rehabilitation schedule.

Sunrise Resources PLC (LON:SRES) said a test grind on a 500-ton bulk sample of natural pozzolan supplied to a large cement and ready-mix concrete company (CRMC) has been successfully completed.

Emmerson PLC (LON:EML) lost £1.5mln in the year to 31 December 2020, as it continued to work up its Khemisset potash project in Morocco. Cash and cash equivalents at year end stood at £1.14mln.

Galantas Gold Corp (CVE:GAL)(LON:GAL) has completed its previously announced placement of shares at C$0.30 per unit, raising just shy of C$8mln. Roland Phelps has retired with the chief executive’s role will be taken by Mario Stifano, an experienced mining executive.

European Metals Holdings Ltd (LON:EMH, ASX:EMH, NASDAQ:ERPNF) said results from locked-cycle tests (LCT) further supported the Cinovec project’s ability to initially produce battery-grade lithium carbonate. The locked-cycle tests were a metallurgical processing assessment conducted on ore concentrate extracted from the company’s flagship Cinovec lithium-tin project in the Czech Republic.

Ariana Resources PLC (LON:AAU) said drilling results from the Banu area of the Kiziltepe mine in Turkey confirmed the presence of higher-grade mineralisation at the south-eastern end of the vein system.

Alien Metals Ltd (LON:UFO) said it will increase its interest in the Hamersley Iron Ore Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) project, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, to over 90%. The acquisition provides increased flexibility to fund the project via a joint venture, partial sale or spin off, it said.

Anglo Asian Mining PLC (LON:AAZ) posted record revenues in 2020 in spite of disruption to its operations in Azerbaijan from COVID-19 and an outbreak of fighting with Armenia. Revenues rose by 11% to US$102.1mln while profits before tax increased by 19% to US$35.7mln

Great Western Mining PLC (LON:GWMO) said its drilling campaign for gold and silver in Mineral County, Nevada, continues apace and within budget. In a stock market update, the company said the latest drilling results have been encouraging.

Thor Mining PLC (LON:THR) is to receive A$300,000 from the South Australian government to help develop the Alford East Copper-Gold project. Alford East was one of 22 projects selected for funding under Round 2 of the State’s Accelerated Discovery Initiative (ADI).

Metal Tiger PLC (LON:MTR), an AIM-quoted natural resources investor, reported a pretax profit for 2020, recovering from the pretax loss made during the turbulent first half of that year, boosted by its equity investments division.

Empire Metals Ltd (LON:EEE) revealed it has an option to acquire a 75% interest in four exploration licences that comprise the Central Menzies gold project. Empire paid A$250,000 in cash plus A$100,000 in newly issued shares (at an assumed price of 2.85p per share) to acquire the option, which lasts for nine months.

NQ Minerals PLC (LON:NQMI, FSE:44D) said mining and trucking operations at its Beaconsfield gold mine in Tasmania, Australia, are progressing well. The company, which is planning to extract more than 100,000 tonnes of 3 grammes a tonne contaminated soil from the Beaconsfield wetlands as part of the environmental rehabilitation of the land

A sustainable way of extracting lithium has been developed by Cornwall-based British Lithium Limited, following three years of research and development. The company has filed a patent application at the UK Intellectual Property Office for its low-energy, chemical-free process for physically separating the mica in granite that contains lithium.

Pembridge Resources PLC (LON:PERE) has published results for the year to end-December 2020. Gati Al-Jebouri, chief executive, said: “These results reflect 2020 being a year in which the Minto team developed the mine and laid the groundwork for future success, despite the unexpected challenges that they faced in the year from the Covid-19 pandemic and a low copper price.

Conroy Gold and Natural Resources PLC (LON:CGNR) has commenced its 2021 drilling programme at Clontibret in County Monaghan, Ireland. The first drill holes of the programme will form part of the ongoing work programme, planning and due diligence for the company’s proposed joint venture partnership with Demir Export.
