The group is a business-to-business and business-to-consumer digital content provider, exploiting intellectual property rights around music and video. One Media specialises in acquiring and repackaging nostalgic music and TV programmes from recordings made over the last 90 years. The group operates from its offices at Pinewood Studios and delivers digital music and video content via aggregators to over 600 online digital stores such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and YouTube. Consumers download or stream the content via PCs, smartphones, internet-enabled radios and music players and Smart TVs.

PLC () has received assurances from HM Revenues & Customs (HMRC) over its funding plans for its anti-piracy business, TCAT.

The company’s TCAT subsidiary has received advance assurance in relation to the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) from the tax man. The EIS advance assurance clears the way for the company to seek new sources of funding to invest in TCAT.

TCAT’s next phase of development is to become a leading anti-piracy service for the music industry, One Media said. Copyright piracy costs the UK economy GBP9bn a year, according to a 2019 report by the government’s Intellectual Property Office.

PLC () has acquired a percentage of the producer royalties to tracks produced by Steve Levine, including music performed by Culture Club.

The digital music rights acquirer, publisher and distributor has an interest in the producer royalties of more than 100 songs produced by Levine, whose credits include work with Louise, 911 and the Honeyz.

PLC’s () Michael Infante talks to Proactive London after revenues in the year to end-October rose by 14% to GBP4mln with profit before tax up by a third to GBP740,000.

Infante discusses some of the highlights in the half year, after acquiring a back catalogue of producer royalties from Take That’s songs and launched a new Men & Motors TV channel as well forming the new TCAT arm.

One Media paid a final dividend of 0.055p and closed the year with cash of GBP6.8mln after a GBP6mln placing in August.
