Caerus Mineral Resources was established to pursue mineral resource projects in Europe, its current focus is on copper-gold opportunities in Cyprus.

Its ambition is to generate value for all stakeholders through the discovery, development and production of copper-gold mineral resources.

The company takes its name from Greek mythology, in which Caerus is the personification of opportunity.

Caerus Mineral Resources PLC () and Jubilee Metals Group () have committed to an immediate pilot sampling and investigation programme at Caerus’s portfolio of copper-gold assets in Cyprus.

The programme is part of the option agreement under the terms of which Jubilee can elect to convert any of the multiple ‘Waste to Revenue’ candidate sites within Caerus’ portfolio into a joint venture.

The programme will be managed on-site by Caerus personnel using Jubilee protocols. Laboratory mineralogical and metallurgical studies will precede a site visit by key Jubilee management, provisionally planned for mid-September.

The field and laboratory mineralogy and metallurgical test programme will, in due course, be succeeded by a further laboratory and analytical schedule leading to swift joint venture decisions on the candidate sites.

() is continuing with due diligence drilling on the recently acquired Troulli project and results so far have significantly exceeded expectations.

Eight vertical percussion holes were completed, and all holes intersected significant gold and/or copper mineralisation. The results indicate the presence of a robust and potentially significant oxide gold and volcanic massive sulphide copper-gold deposit located on the site of a former small-scale mine.

The extraction of copper on the island of Cyprus goes right back to the beginnings of recorded time. Indeed, it’s thought that the island itself is named after an ancient word for copper. And, even if that isn’t true, what is true is that Cyprus gave its name to the Roman word for copper, cuprum, from whence derives our present-day English word.

‘s () Martyn Churchouse talks to Proactive London about their ‘potentially transformational deal’ with Jubilee Metals PLC ().

The deal entails a six-month exclusive period to assess all of Caerus’ surface-based mining waste and tailings assets in Cyprus with a view to converting them into one or more joint ventures.

Jubilee will investigate and assess the remnant ore and multiple waste stockpiles from the 16 mines that operated historically on Caerus’ concessions, including those of the recently acquired PR Ploutonic Resources Ltd.
