(, )’s interim revenues jumped by 49% as activity through its payments platform continued to rise strongly.

End-user spend, the key measure for transactions on the platform, jumped to GBP1.3bn from GBP743mln in the six months to end June, 2021, with Bango’s own revenues rising to GBP7.1mln from GBP4.8mln.

Bango earns payment revenue from transactions processed through the platform, data monetisation revenue from the insights provided through this activity and through other fees, such as integration.

Interim adjusted earnings almost doubled to GBP2.01mln (GBP1.09mln) with an operating profit of GBP242,000 (loss:GBP411,000) though after increased spending on marketing to expand the customer base and on developing the platform there was a pre-tax loss of GBP0.45mln (GBP0.67mln).

() said revenue jumped 49% in the first half of 2021 as end user spending increased across its payments platform, thanks in part to its partnerships with Microsoft and Amazon.

In a trading update, Bango said revenue amounted to GBP7.1mln in the six months ended June 30, up from GBP4.8mln in the same period of last year. End user spend rose to GBP1.3bn, up from GBP700mln a year ago.

Larbey telling Proactive that Bango delivered another period of strong growth as activity through its payment platform continued to rise strongly. The company finished the period ahead of its plan as volumes grew across all payment methods, including carrier billing and mobile wallets.
