Condor Gold on track to production at La India gold deposit

Condor Gold Plc is an exploration company focused on developing and further proving a large commercial reserve on its 100% owned La India Project in Nicaragua.

The company received an environmental permit in August 2018 for the development, construction and operation of a processing plant with a capacity of up to 2,800 tonnes per day and associated mine site infrastructure at La India.

Initial site preparation began in December 2020 at the location of the processing plant facility. The work includes the main plant access road from a regional paved highway to the processing plant, in-plant roads and a bypass road.

(, , , ) said the latest results from in-fill drilling at the Mestiza open pit at its La India gold project in Nicaragua showed good continuity in mineralisation between adjacent drill holes in the high-grade zones.

The total drilling programme on Mestiza Open Pit is approximately 7800 metres with 2 drill rigs operating on the site. The drilling should be completed within 6 weeks.

Mark Child, chairman and chief executive, said: he was “delighted” with the initial results.

“The high-grade drill intercepts announced today of 4.1 m true width at 15.23 g/t gold and 3.6 m true width at 29.1 g/t gold, approximately 40 m and 85 m respectively below surface may add to our mineral resource inventory at Mestiza and possibly improve the project’s economics, although this will only be confirmed at the conclusion of this drilling campaign.

(, , , ) said assays from drilling at the Cacao prospect in Nicaragua identified a gold vein system over 1,000m long and 10m wide.

Fifteen drill holes of 3,500m in total were drilled to test if near-surface gold mineralisation at Cacao is the top of a fully preserved epithermal gold system, the exploration company said.

(, , , ) appointed Jair Diaz Navarro as a senior mining engineer to work at its fully permitted La India project in Nicaragua.

Diaz is a mining engineer with over 10 years’ experience in mine planning and operation. His has worked at Barrick Gold’s Cortez mine, Gran Colombia Gold’s Segovia underground operations and for () at is Haile Mine.

It’s been remarkable to watch the evolution of ()() over the past few years.

The cornerstone of the company was an inspired piece of deal-making with B2Gold () undertaken by chief executive Mark Child, and from that an asset base has been built up to the point where Condor has more than two million resources ounce in the ground as part of an emerging five million ounce district play, projects that are fully permitted for production, and a decision to mine increasingly imminent.
