(, , ) signed a binding letter of intent with Halliburton which will provide project management, drilling and other well services for the planned appraisal programme at the Anchois gas project offshore Morocco.

It comes as the company counts down to the start of operations at Anchois where its targeting a December start to drilling.

“Following on from our recently announced rig award, today’s release marks further progress towards our planned appraisal well on the Lixus licence, offshore Morocco, later this year,” said Adonis Pouroulis.

“We remain on track for drilling operations to commence in December and we look forward to updating the market further as other operational milestones are achieved ahead of drilling.”

(, , ) has signed a contract with Stena Drilling, one of the world’s foremost independent drilling contractors, to use its Stena Don drilling rig for the planned Anchois gas appraisal well within the Lixus licence, offshore Morocco.

Drilling operations are anticipated to commence in December 2021 and are expected to take up to approximately 40 days.

Charity Limited’s Adonis Pouroulis joins Proactive London’s Katie Pilbeam to talk about the deal with the Government of Mauritania to progress a potential green hydrogen development, denominated as “Project Nour”, of up to 10GW.

As Pouroulis explains Project Nour has been given exclusivity over an onshore and offshore area totalling approximately 14,400 km2 to carry out pre-feasibility and feasibility studies with the intention of generating electricity from solar and wind resources to be used in electrolysis to split water to produce green hydrogen and oxygen.

He says the goal is to quickly realise the potential of green hydrogen. In Mauritania, Chariot has a history of previous significant investments and bringing in world-class partners to projects.
