Condor Gold PLC (AIM:CNR, TSX:COG, OTC:CNDGF) announced the completion of an in-fill drilling programme on the high-grade La Mestiza Open pit, part of its La India project in Nicaragua.

It expects results from the drilling to be used to upgrade the existing open pit resource to the more confident indicated category for the potential inclusion in future pre-feasibility or feasibility studies of the La India project.

The open pit is estimated to contain 36,000 ounces of gold in the indicated category and 85,000 ounces in the inferred category.

“The completion of 8,004 m of infill drilling on the fully permitted La Mestiza Open pit is another milestone achieved in de-risking the La India project ahead of production,” said chairman and chief executive Mark Child.

“Condor already has monthly mine schedules for this open pit as it is targeted for early extraction.

“Drill results so far have been consistent with previous drilling grades and widths, demonstrating good continuity in gold mineralization between adjacent drill holes in the high-grade zones,” he said.
